Nathalie Fordeyn eyewear is handmade and constructed from high quality materials including sustainable acetate combined with gold plated metal pieces. The Nathalie Forgeyn eyewear signature component is the colour “Japanese Gold” and is used in virtually all of Nathalie’s’ designs including her clothing line.
Why this particular colour? For Nathalie each and every colour and tone is like the sound of a particular instrument “Japanese gold” is the sound of a Cello that is playing modern songs inspired by classical pieces. The colour gold is a traditional hue that has been used in designs throughout the centuries and has a certain timelessness to it that Nathalie has brought into a modern design.
She considers the combination of traditional and 21st century designs to be one of the most notable components of the brand’s eyewear. No less important to design aesthetics are quality and comfort. Nathalie Fordeyn is committed to reducing the environmental impact of its products and as such, a number of models utilize eco-acetate for its frames.Eco-acetate is derived from cellulose obtained by wood or cotton fibres, which is combined with acetic.After disposal, eco-acetate breaks down much in the same way as organic waste. Materials used in the packaging are also recycled and we strive to use as little single use plastic as possible throughout the supply chain.
On a local level, Nathalie Fordeyn encourages staff to reduce their daily consumption of single use plastic and waste and embarks on awareness initiatives to promote this message.
